Medical malpractice is when a healthcare professional breaches their duty of care to a patient, resulting in injury or death. Fortunately, these cases are fairly rare, but when they do occur the consequences can be devastating. Some people wonder what kinds of treatments might lead to medical malpractice.
From what I understand, the attitude toward social workers and counseling is that "you're so good at helping people that you can probably do counseling". For what it's worth I think you learn the most about counseling through practicum and I've met some competent social workers. Sometimes they really don't train them much in counseling though.
